Professor Seebaldt received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with certification in secondary education from Marygrove College in 1966; a Master of Arts in Philosophy from St. Louis University in 1969; and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in group work from Wayne State University in 1979. She has been a full-time member of the social work faculty since 1981. She served as the Field Director from 1982 to 1993, and again from 2006 to the present.

Professional Experience

She was the Program Director from 1993 to 2001 when the program was fully reaccredited. Professor Seebaldt's professional experience has included undergraduate teaching in philosophy, social work practice in medical, gerontological, and mental health agencies, as well as work in a residential treatment program for adolescents. Her research interests focus on applied ethics and social work curriculum development and design.


She is certified as an accreditation site visitor for the Council on Social Work Education. Professor Seebaldt also developed and administers the Certificate Programs in Gerontology and Child Welfare.
