Welcome and thank you for visiting Marygrove’s website. I trust that you will find exactly what you’re looking for…a place where you can advance your career and your life...and more.
As I enter my third year as president of this grand institution, I recall the bold moves generations of leaders before me have made that has led Marygrove to where we are today: a graduate studies and professional development college on a mission.
Our mission is to educate students from diverse backgrounds; foster values-based leadership, provide innovative graduate studies and professional development toward career enhancement and social responsibility, and serve as an institutional leader within the city of Detroit.
I invite you to read about the storied history of Marygrove College from our beginnings in 1905 in Monroe, Michigan, to our move to Detroit in 1927 and our evolution to a graduate-only college that is guided by the values of human dignity; community; social justice; ecological justice; excellence; innovation; and diversity. These universal values undergird all our graduate and professional programs.
As we formulate the 2018-2023 strategic plan, it will be based upon those values and our vision for our students as citizen-leaders who will inspire transformative change in their workplaces, communities, and society through their intellectual rigor and professional excellence, creativity and imagination, active compassion for others, and life-long commitment to a just, humane, and inclusive world.
I encourage you to explore Marygrove online but more than that. I invite you to “come” to Marygrove – in person or online – for a great education to propel your career in teaching, human resource management or social justice.
