Circulation desk - roles

Contact: Frank White and Mary Sue Livingston
Effective Date: February 12, 1999
Purpose: To clarify roles and expectations of the Circulation desk
Scope: This policy applies to Marygrove College library staff

Statement of Policy

The Circulation desk provides assistance with circulation of books, videos, DVDs, and other library materials, including course reserve items. Assistance is also provided with photocopiers, the copycard machine, and equipment on the librarys lower level. Payment for copies printed on the laser printers is also made at the Circulation desk. The Circulation desk is not a message center or post office. The library can not accept responsibility for other people's property for pickup by someone else because the Circulation area is not a secure one. Reference books may not be held for others at the Circulation desk since they are frequently used by library patrons.
