The FederalTEACH Grant Program was created for students who are completing or plan to complete course work needed to begin a career in teaching. This grant is available to graduate students who do not already have teaching credentials and plan to teach in low income school districts in high need subjects (Foreign Language, Math, Reading Specialist, Science and Special Education). It provides up to $3496 per academic year. Graduate students may receive the award for up to the equivalent of two full time years ($7432). The student must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 to renew. Students who fail to meet the terms of the Federal TEACH Grant Program will have the grant converted to an unsubsidized student loan.
