December 12, 2003---The
Marygrove College Board of Trustees elected two new members to its Board of
Directors: Bob Berg, partner, Berg Muirhead & Associates, and Seema Chaturvedi,
founder and managing director of Accelerator Group, LLC.
Bob Berg began his career as a reporter for United Press International and later,
served a total of 17 years as senior public affairs advisor to Governor William
G. Milliken and Detroit Mayor Coleman A. Young. More recently, he served as
interim press secretary for Detroit Mayor Kwame M. Kilpatrick. Berg has a B.A.
in political science from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, Illinois,
and has done graduate work in international relations at the University of Stockholm,
Stockholm, Sweden. Berg Muirhead & Associates is a full-service public relations
counseling firm.
Seema Chaturvedi has over 15 years of capital markets and financial management
experience, which she gained as an entrepreneur, investment banker and investor.
She has worked with Amherst Capital and JM Morgan Stanley, and was co-founder
of Rasee Investments Group. She is adjunct faculty member at the University
of Phoenix’s Michigan Campus and is a member of the board of directors
of I-Team, a Michigan Directorship organization. In 2001, she was named to Crain’s
Detroit Business “40 Under 40” and in 2002, was named to the publication’s
“Detroit’s Most Influential Business Women” list. Chaturvedi
holds a master’s degree in finance from Boston College. She earned an
undergraduate degree with honors in economics from Delhi University in India.
