The first issue of The Maxis Review was published in Spring 2001. Its appearance marked the introduction of a new literary resource for Marygrove College and the surrounding metropolitan Detroit community.
For its inaugural issue, we have assembled a remarkable collection of poets who all have some significant connection with Marygrove College. The volume includes the works of students, faculty, alumni, and distinguished authors who have visited Marygrove as guest artists.
Poems by Jim Daniels and Kevin Rashid join works from emerging voices for whom publication in The Maxis Review signals their arrival in print. We are very pleased to feature brilliant artwork from David Vandegrift on the cover.

Future issues of The Maxis Review will include poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, photography, and artwork. I welcome submissions of quality work, particularly from authors and artists from the metropolitan Detroit area. Please review the submissions policies for guidelines.
