This course will provide you the opportunity to explore the variety of modes available for instruction today. The use of computers as an aid for both teaching and learning will be examined. EDU 571 Managing the Classroom: Strategies and Techniques 3 credits
In this course you will analyze the dynamics of the classroom unit and build your competence in using effective classroom management strategies. The need for parental support will be explored and strategies for working effectively with parents will be presented.

EDU 695 Action Research: Process, Theory and Design, and Practicum 3 credits
This course focuses on both the theoretical foundations of collaborative action research and the practical application of the process itself. In this course you will demonstrate your competence as a committed professional dedicated to working with your peers to add to the knowledge base of the research on teaching in the 21st century. You will select a topic or issue related to your teaching specialization, student learning or the teaching profession in general. You will analyze, interpret, and study the design of research models and evaluation techniques prominent in current educational practice and review available literature related to the topic/issue you selected. Finally, you will develop a research proposal and conduct an action research project appropriate for your portfolio.
