Marygrove Librarians are available by Instant Message (IM) whenever
the library is open.
Use the green box below to ask a question now. If the librarian is not available, please send your email or phone
number and we'll get right back to you.
Please tell us as much about your question as possible, including details about a specific assignment or any
sources you may have already consulted. Make sure you fill in each box and please double-check that your email address is
entered correctly.
Personal Research Consultation:
You can make an appointment for a personal research consultation with a reference librarian.
Please call or email a librarian to set up a meeting time in the library.
I need help starting my research project.
Try the interactive online Guide to Academic Research for information on
using resources in the Marygrove Library to get your project started.
Can I renew checked out
books or check the status of my library account?
You can access your library record from the
Marygrove Library Catalog.
Go to the Catalog and click on
the "View Your Record" tab. Enter your ID barcode to access your record.
Please note that your ID barcode is the 8-digit number on the back of your
student ID card, not your 7-digit student ID number. If you have any
questions, please contact the Circulation Desk.
How do I find an article on a certain subject?
To see a list of periodical databases available by subject area, it might help
to start on the Search by Subject page of the library
website. Choose the subject area (or areas) you are interested in to
access a number of relevant databases.
How can I find a specific periodical (journal or magazine)? You can find all of the periodicals we subscribe to in print through the
Marygrove Library Catalog.
To find a specific title, search by Journal Title Browse and type in the
name of the magazine or journal. Your results will show you the location
and holdings of the periodical, if available.
To see all of the periodicals available at Marygrove, whether in print or online, go to
the Search for Articles web page and click on the "Search
for full-text journals" link on the right side of the screen.
How do I cite an article/web page/book in my paper? The Library provides
Quick Reference Guides on
APA
and MLA
style formatting that include many examples of how to cite materials in your
paper. The Online Writing Lab
from Purdue University is also a very good source.
