Application Process

Thank you for your interest in employment with Marygrove College. As an applicant and potential employee, providing you with needed information about the employment process is one of our highest priorities. For this reason, listed below are answers to questions you might have. Please view our job openings and benefits to determine if Marygrove College could be the right place for you.

How to apply - submitting applications/resumes
At the end of each job announcement, there is a paragraph with instructions on how to apply for the job. The resume is typically forwarded to Human Resources. In some cases, it is forwarded to the hiring supervisor or to Academic Affairs. If there is any doubt where to forward the resume/application, please send it to Human Resources and Human Resources will route it to the appropriate department.

References
Please forward three employment references: company name, supervisor/manager’s name, current phone number and address. You may forward letters of reference with your application/resume. In some cases, to fulfill the application requirements, three letters of reference are required. These letters of reference will be verified as genuine.

Academic credentials
For academic positions, provide a copy of your transcripts and two letters of recommendation. Marygrove verifies a college degree when required on the job description.

Background check
If hired, a criminal records background check will be done. Having a criminal record does not necessarily eliminate an individual from employment, but the College must receive full disclosure of the crime.

Physical examination/drug screen
The College does not require a pre-employment physical examination nor drug screen.

Submitting resumes
Applications are accepted only for open positions posted on our Web site. Please review the available positions and apply for a specific position that is suited to your background and experience. For a list of open positions, call our job hotline at (313) 927-1562.

Response to resume
Marygrove will acknowledge receipt of your resume, and contact you for an interview if you are deemed to be one of the most qualified candidates.
