Decrease represents a 19 percent drop for some online graduate programs
DETROIT, March 26, 2012 — Marygrove College today announced that it will reduce tuition for some of its online graduate programs by 19 percent. The reduction will be in effect for the 2012-2013 academic year and will apply to the following programs: Educational Technology; Educational Leadership; Human Resource Management and Modern Language Translation Certificates. The per-credit-hour rate for the specified online graduate courses went from $544 to $440. Also, for third year in a row, on-campus graduate tuition has remained steady at $640/per credit hour.
Marygrove announces 2012 high honors recipients
DETROIT, March 19, 2012 — Marygrove College today announced the recipients of the College’s 2012 High Honors Awards. These awards pay tribute to exceptional academic achievement and leadership skills.
The awards and winners are as follows: Tammy Barnosky, Sholanda Presbery, Steven Sledge and Willie Peterson, Jarell Williams, Julie Laforet
Empowered Nonviolence - Confronting Structural Violence and Gender Oppression
Due to its popularity, Marygrove is again offering this master-level Social Justice course!
How do we define structural violence?
How have women and their allies been creatively fighting these forces of violence and gender oppression?
This graduate-level class will help you learn more!
Mondays, 6-9 p.m.
May 14 - July 2
May be taken as an alternate to the practicum requirement for Social Justice students or by any other interested students.
For interested persons not enrolled at the College, simply apply as a "guest" for this course.
2012 Mary Helen Washington Writing Award Contest Winners Announced

DETROIT, March 15, 2012 — The Department of English and Modern Languages at Marygrove College has just completed the judging for the second year of the Mary Helen Washington Writing Award Contest, offered in conjunction with our Contemporary American Authors Lecture Series (CAALS). Named after nationally-renowned scholar, editor, essayist, and teacher Dr. Mary Helen Washington, and supported through the generosity of series sponsors Lillian and Don Bauder, this annual contest asks students to write essays in response to the works of the CAALS guest artist. The top four winners receive cash prizes.
