> Applications Specialist
Job Title: Applications Specialist
Reports To: IT Manager
Department: Information Technology Department

POSITION CONCEPT AND OVERVIEW
Repair, troubleshoot, setup, diagnose and remedy staff, faculty and students requests for desktop, media cart, telecommunications (phone) and network connections. Provide faculty, staff, and students support for common desktop applications and common network and hardware issues; resolve problems and coordinate the solution with the IT Manager. Ensures that such requests are handled in an effective manner and documents the proper recording of all information for a service request providing communication links for future contacts and escalation. Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Effectively handle workstation, phone, laptop, network connectivity and printing issues. Install, configure, update, troubleshoot and repair minor hardware problems. Maintain appropriate databases with information regarding software and hardware assets within Marygrove.

- Schedule and perform system equipment moves
- Setup, configure and administer phones and phone structure
- Documentation of processes where necessary
- Maintenance of internal databases for hardware and software inventory
- Must be able to work flexible hours. Need to work a rotation of hours including Saturday work
- Need to be able to lift and move up to 40 lbs.
- Subject matter expert on faculty, staff and students IT support needs and requests
- Cat5 cable termination and knowledge of straight/crossover patch cables.

QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills:
- Must satisfactorily pass onsite PC Proficiency Test; (PC, network, printing, phone, Smart Classroom and Media Cart troubleshooting, problem resolution ability testing)
- Seasoned experience with PC, imaging, installation, troubleshooting of PC equipment and software for students, faculty and staff
- Incumbent is equipped with necessary IT skills to perform core duties at time of hire
- Ability to connect and navigate Marygrove network resources. This requires exposure to DOS, Windows /NT/2000/XP/7, Active Directory 2003/2008/2010, and IP networking concepts and server-client Windows environment computing
- Knowledge of all aspects of PC components and peripherals, including laser and inkjet printers, phone, Smart Classroom and media carts.

Title: Blackboard/Media Specialist

POSITION CONCEPT AND OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for the maintenance and expansion of the Blackboard and on-campus Smart Classrooms and media carts. This position uses a combination of Blackboard administration and media technical specialty to develop new processes for the college and to increase faculty, staff, and student customer satisfaction. The technical aspects also keep the Blackboard and media related technologies such as Smart Classroom and media carts working at peak levels.

- Develop user readiness solutions for Blackboard, Smart Classrooms and media carts.
- Add value to faculty/staff/ student Smart Classroom, media cart and Blackboard user experience

QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills

- 1+ year knowledge and experience in a Windows server client environment
- 2 years experience in providing faculty/staff/student IT support in a higher learning work environment
- Experience with software troubleshooting and diagnosis.

Position description:
The Chief Advancement Officer acts as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement’s advisor on all day-to-day operations of the Institutional Advancement division.
This position will:
- Be responsible for the creation and execution of a comprehensive fund raising plan in collaboration with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement, and the Directors of Alumni Relations and Annual Fund, Annual Giving and Programs, and Government and Foundation Relations; and
- Have oversight of Alumni Relations, Special Events, Stewardship and Planned Giving. In addition, he/she will be responsible for cultivating relationships with corporate entities.
Essential duties/responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of Institutional Advancement, including supervision of all development staff, budgets, data management, events, fund raising, development publications, research, stewardship, and technology.
- Oversee the creation, implementation and documentation of gift processing, grant management, and special event procedures and policies.
- Establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with Controller and other financial services personnel to facilitate seamless reconciliation process.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a strategic plan for fund raising based on
institutional need; assist in the creation of appropriate marketing materials.
- Oversee the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of all constituencies.
- Develop and implement benchmarks and progress reporting mechanisms.
- Provide a variety of reports, particularly financial, for the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the President, the Development Committee, Senior Leadership team, and any other entities as directed by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
- Plan and implement a comprehensive Planned Giving program.
- Facilitate the creation of a team-based, highly collaborative approach to division objectives; provide positive and highly productive leadership to all Institutional Advancement personnel.
- Oversee and direct all aspects of stewardship including daily gift processing and acknowledgement and donor recognition programs.
- Ensure the highest standards of fiscal responsibility and data integrity.
- Required to work evenings and weekends for special events and other pertinent projects.
- All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
- Prior Work Experience:
- Minimum of seven years prior fundraising experience (including securing major gifts) is required;
- Experience in or knowledge of the Detroit and southeastern Michigan philanthropic communities is a significant plus. Comfort and familiarity with corporate environments is a plus;
- Experience with capital campaigns a plus;
- Previous experience in Higher Ed required;
- Technical Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills;
- Excellent writing skills with impeccable grammar and attention to detail;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Raiser’s Edge;

POSITION CONCEPT AND OVERVIEW
This person is a key interface between the database/systems and the Datatel Administrative Software system. Through careful analysis and listening, this person will facilitate bringing the proper resources into use to resolve user issues and questions. This position is the first line of contact for Marygrove databases and servers for Datatel, SQL Reports, databases, online surveys and Active Directory issues and questions. This person will utilize a combination of outside and inside resources, hands-on training, and written documentation and system standards to perform their job effectively.
Position Performance Factors (Core Competencies)
- Administer, create and implement all electronic forms, surveys and online databases
- Administer, maintain and update databases and servers
- FA Suite setup
- Providing technical database and server assistance to Colleague users
- Resolving Colleague problems for staff and faculty in person, via telephone or from a remote location
- Providing assistance concerning the use of Colleague
- New user set up and/or changes in user access to databases and servers
- Coordination of on site consulting, conferences and training of database and serverse
- Providing database report writing training for staff
- Handling of all duplicate records to merge information into one record

QUALIFICATIONS

SUMMARY:
This position supports professional development graduate course work for teachers. Individuals are responsible for the evaluation of student course work. These graduate courses are taken by teachers to maintain state certification. Evaluators are paid based on the number of individual student course submissions graded at a rate of $10/student submission. Evaluators are assigned grading responsibilities based on course content and their own teaching expertise and credentials.
DUTIES:
- Grade coursework submissions from students registered for professional development coursework in the distance learning format.
- Attend training seminars and meetings as required by the Continuing Education Division.

- Masters degree required
- Teacher certification required
- At least three (3) years of progressively responsible classroom experience

POSITION CONCEPT AND OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for the maintenance and expansion of the use of Datatel Software and ERP products on the Campus computers. This position uses a combination of system analysis and technical specialty to develop new processes for the college. The technical aspects also keep the Datatel and ERP related software working at peak levels. The person will manage and utilize outside resources such as Datatel’s help desk, training facilities, outside consultants and hardware specialists to develop system projects. Review and refit custom processes and updates in Datatel.
Position Performance Factors (Core Competencies)
- Analyzes and design improvements of existing and future Datatel use at the College.
- Application program development (Datatel UniData, SQL).
- Assist with specialized data reporting and system management.
- Provide Datatel training, instruction and coordination to users in various functions.

- Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about modules.

SUMMARY
The Restricted Accountant supports all general ledger activities including journal entries, revenue recognition, accruals, and reconciliation of asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts. Specifically, the Restricted Accountant will focus primarily on the College’s grant revenue and related accounts receivable, pledge/contribution revenue and related accounts receivable, restricted investments, and net asset funds pertaining to the above temporarily and permanently restricted funds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Monthly reconciliation and tracking of grant (state, federal, and private) receivables and grant revenue, temporarily restricted and permanently restricted net assets funds, restricted investments, and pledge receivables and revenue
- Responsible for development of new grants and supporting activities of existing grants
- Development of federal indirect rate
- Tracking of detailed scholarship funds and other restricted fund accounts including allowable expenditures in accordance with donor stipulations
- Monthly and annual financial reporting and variance analysis including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and grant reporting
- Examines, analyzes and interprets accounting records for management
- Assists in month end and year end close, annual budgets
- Back-up of other designated accounting positions and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated accounting and internal controls capability
- Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

SUMMARY
The Revenue Accountant supports all general ledger activities including journal entries, revenue recognition, and reconciliation of asset, liability, revenue, and expense accounts. Specifically, the Revenue Accountant will focus primarily on the College’s cash and treasury function, tuition revenue, deferred revenue and related student accounts receivable, prepaid and other assets, and the Perkins loan funds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Daily and monthly reconciliation of financial subsystems including A/R, Perkins loan and general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and others as deemed necessary
- Proper revenue recognition, reconciliation, and analytical analysis of tuition, fees and other miscellaneous revenue
- Responsible for maintaining the College’s Perkins loan fund in its entirety including becoming point of contact with a third party administrator
- Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting and variance analysis including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Examines, analyzes and interprets accounting records for management
- Assist in month end and year end close, annual budgets
- Back-up of other accounting positions
