Deciding what to bring and what to leave at home can be difficult. Luckily, we have a detailed list to help alleviate any stress this process may cause.
What you will find in your room:
- A Bed Frame and Mattress (Twin XL)
- 4-Drawer Dresser
- A Desk and a Chair
- Closet and Shelf
- Small couch (Loveseat)
- Bathroom with two sinks, shower and toilet
Things to bring with you:
- Pillow
- Blanket
- Sheets, extra-long twin
- Towels and washcloths
- Hangers
- Select clothing (Remember, closet space will be limited!)
- Alarm clock
- Landline Telephone
- Automatic shut-off iron
- Shower curtain, mat/rugs
- Laundry basket, detergent, fabric softener
- Personal toiletries
- Basic first-aid kit
- Cleaning supplies including dishwasher detergent, kitchen surface cleaners, and window cleaners
- Cookware
- Plates, bowls, cups
- Computer
- Ethernet cord or Wireless Router
- Your favorite pictures, posters, or other décor (Nothing permanent!)
- TV
- DVD player
- iPod
- Gaming systems
- Classroom materials
- Quarters for laundry (and lots of them so you never have to take laundry home)
Things to leave at home include, but aren’t limited to:
- Candles, incense, and anything with an open flame
- Flammable liquids
- Halogen floor and desk lamps
- Waterbeds and water-filled furniture
- Outdoor antennas and satellite dishes
- Weapons including paintball guns, air soft guns, martial arts weapons, water guns, and knives
- Fireworks and other explosive materials
- Alcohol including beer, wine, and liquor
- Pets (of any kind)
- Electric blankets/electric heaters
- Personal air conditioners
- Appliances with open heating elements such as toasters/skillets/hot plate
