As residence life professionals, we are here to help your son or daughter learn inside and outside the classroom. There are many opportunities to enhance your student's education by attending programs in the residence hall, learning how to live in a community, or through learning how to deal with conflicts. Please encourage your student to take responsibility for resolving his/her problems using our staff as a resource. We believe that students who learn to deal with problems on their own become more confident, efficient individuals that often times are well-prepared for life outside of college (work).

Our Residence Life program is overseen by a live-in resident director (RD). They, and the student resident assistants (RAs), are dedicated to student development, building community, and conflict mediation. Other student leaders include members of the Residence Hall Association (RHA). Students are encouraged to become a part of RHA and will learn more about the association during Residence Hall Orientation.

As parents, you may notice some differences in your student as he/she negotiates the transition to college. To find out more about what your son or daughter is experiencing at Marygrove College, consider attending the parent programs during New Student Orientation. You may also want to lean on the extensive collection of professional literature that can be found in many bookstores across the area. Some great examples would be:
