The “D” Word Dorm vs. Residence Hall
Consider this four letter D-word (Dorm) to be extinct at Marygrove College. The D-word originated from the Latin word dormï(re), which means to sleep, and –tory, which means place.
At Marygrove College, our residents have more than a place to (yawn) sleep. We have a passion to advance their student careers and enhance their personal growth. With a holistic goal of professional and personal growth of our residents in mind, the addition of "Residence Life" was added to the title of the Housing Office. Residence Life takes pride in providing our students a enjoyable, academic and social Residence Hall, not simply a place to sleep. The residence hall is a living, learning community where residents can enhance their overall college experience while pursuing their academic achievements.
