This is a step-by-step process in applying for and accepting financial aid at Marygrove College. You may be redirected from this web site if you click on any of the links.

Step 1:  File the FAFSA
The primary vehicle for awarding financial aid is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The FAFSA is the application for all federal, state and many Marygrove College financial aid programs.  For maximum consideration for available aid programs, we recommend you file your FAFSA by June 1st, however you may file your FAFSA at any time during the academic year.

To begin, gather your and your spouse’s (if applicable) W2s and federal tax return.  If you are enrolling during the 2008-2009 academic year, you will need your 2007 information. You will also need your parent’s information if you do NOT meet one of the following criteria:

  • You will reach the age of 24 by January 1, 2009
  • You will be working on an advanced degree (Master’s, PhD, etc.)
  • You are married as of the date of FAFSA filing
  • You have children for which you provide more than half of the support
  • You are a veteran or active member of the armed services
  • Both of your parents are deceased OR you are a ward of the court

Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and follow the instructions for completion.  You may sign the FAFSA electronically if you and your parents (if applicable) have a PIN number. Marygrove College Title IV School Code:  002284

Step 2:  Review Your Student Aid Report (SAR)
You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) either by mail or email. Review this document for accuracy.  Make corrections on the FAFSA website at www.fafsa.ed.gov, if necessary.

Step 3:  Do your Student Loan Entrance Counseling
First time borrowers, MUST complete Entrance Loan Counseling to before you will be packaged with federal student loans.

Step 4:  View and Accept Your Award on WebAdvisor
View and accept your financial aid award using WebAdvisor. If additional documents are required, they must be submitted before you will be packaged for financial aid.

Step 5:  Sign Your Master Promissory Note (MPN)
Once your loan is certified, first time borrowers and new/transfer students must sign a MPN before your loans will disburse to your student account.
