Biographical

Professor Hoge received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Spanish from the University of Michigan in 1979; a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan in 1990; a Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Michigan in 1990; and a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work and Sociology from the University of Michigan in 1993. Dr. Hoge has been a full-time faculty member at Marygrove College since January of 1996. She served as the Field

Director from 2001-2006, and the Program Director from 2006 until the present. Her practice experience includes working with delinquent youth and their families; the evaluation of residential and community-based programs for children, youth and families; crisis intervention counseling; and tutoring and mentoring special needs adolescents. Her research focuses on the stigmatization of people with AIDS, the evaluation of programs for delinquent youth, support advocacy groups for incarcerated women! ex-offenders, group work with teen girls, and resiliency among adolescents and adults - including social work students and professionals.
