Professor Hanselman received her Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2000 from Marygrove College and her Master of Social Work degree in 2001 from Wayne State University. She began teaching at Marygrove College as an adjunct professor in 2006, and joined the social work department as a half-time faculty member in 2008. In 2010, she became a full-time faculty member. In addition to her regular faculty responsibilities, Professor Hanselman is the Social Work department consultant for continuing education workshops offered for Behavioral Healthcare professionals. She serves as consultant for, and coordinator of, the newly developed Recovery Coach Educational Series. In her previous position as a social worker at Oakland Family Services, Professor Hanselman served as Clinical Manager providing clinical services in the behavioral health areas as well as orienting new therapists to the agency. Additionally, she served as a program liaison for Oakland Family Services, working with court judges, probation officers and probationers at the district and circuit court levels. Her specialties include substance abuse, women's issues, and prisoner re-entry for parolees.
