Results
The Educational Technology Services department had a clear goal for the evening:
to increase the number of black families making technology an important part of their lives, in order to enhance their education, health, nutrition, job opportunities, communication skills, entertainment, and overall quality of life.
To this end, a number of objectives were identified and met:
- Marygrove College enhanced its reputation for fostering urban
leadership, by providing technology resources for students and the neighboring community;
- The prizes awarded encouraged participants to further explore the ways
technology can enhance their lives;
- By the end of the evening, 100% of workshop participants could identify the
strengths and weaknesses of social networking sites;
- 100% of participants were familiar with the new interface of Microsoft
Office 2007;
- 100% of participants had gained a better understanding of digital photography,
and could choose the camera that best fits their needs and budget;
- 100% of participants could use online tools to search and prepare for
employment;
- 100% of participants could use online databases to research their family trees;
- 100% of participants could make an informed decision when buying their
first or next computer;
