MARYGROVE COLLEGE WELCOMES NEW PRESIDENT JULY 1
David J. Fike, PhD, assumes the presidency of Marygrove College on Saturday, July 1, 2006, becoming the eighth president in the College ’s 100-year history.
He succeeds Glenda D. Price, PhD, who retired after eight years as president. Dr. Fike joined Marygrove College as Provost on August 1, 2005, serving as Marygrove’s chief operating officer with responsibility for all academic programs as well as all activities related to the education of students, including Student Affairs. OVER $200,00 RAISED FOR SCIENCE INITIATIVE
Over 270 guests were on hand to bid adieu to Dr. Glenda Price at a gala reception on June 8th at Marygrove College. The evening was not only a celebration on the occasion of her retirement but also a fundraiser for the Dr. Glenda D. Price Science Initiative Fund.
The evening rains held off while guests were entertained by the jazzy tunes of Spencer Barefield on the campus grounds for the first portion of the festivities. Later, the party proceeded to Alumni Hall to enjoy a strolling dinner and have a chance to say their goodbyes and well wishes to Dr. Price. [More] [More

MAKE “SUMMER DREAMS” COME TRUE AND SUPPORT MARYGROVE’S
CHILDREN’S THEATRE AND ART PROGRAMS
Marygrove
College seeks support for the various children’s art and theatre
programs offered this summer by the Institute of Music and Dance. This
year, the College needs to raise $16,000 in order to fund these summer
camps.
Fortunately, the camps were again chosen to benefit from the Detroit
Free Press, Children First - Summer Dreams initiative. As part of
this program, the Skillman Foundation matches each donation, up $1,500,
to help reach a combined goal of $32,000. [More]
