“HAVE A SEAT…AND MORE!” A SUCCESS
Thursday, November 8, Denk Chapman and Alumni Hall were transformed into beautiful, candle-lit art galleries for the “Have a Seat…and more!” fundraising auction.  Over 150 alumni, friends of the College, staff, and art collectors enjoyed strolling hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, beautiful floral centerpieces, art, and conversation during the reception, silent auction, and live auction.  Dominic and Delia Pangborn were the hosts of the event, and Dominic donated two chairs that he personally designed.

MEET STUDENT NICK ROBERTS
Nick is a member of the class of ’09, a player on the men’s basketball team, from Pontiac, and majoring in business administration and pre-med.  His interests include basketball, fishing, golfing, hanging out with family and friends, and traveling with friends (to a different state every year).  Nick came to Marygrove because it has an up-and-coming athletics program and the academics are really strong.  He wants to play professional basketball, attend graduate school at Florida State University, and eventually own a gym or athletic club with a rehabilitation center for sports injuries. His advice to other students is: “Have your goals in mind and stay on your path.  Don’t be sidetracked, because this is your last stab before the real world comes along.”

ALUMNI CLASS NOTES ARE NOW ONLINE
In August 2007, Marygrove’s alumni web site at www.marygrove.edu/alumni/class_notes.asp began including class notes and photos that have been submitted to the alumni office since the most recent edition of Contact magazine.  Death notifications, both for alumni and their family members, are also included.  While this information will continue to be published annually in Contact, we hope this will provide a useful, up-to-date resource that will help alums stay connected with one another.  If you would like to submit a class note or death notification, please contact Diane Puhl, director of Alumni Relations, at dpuhl@marygrove.edu or Marygrove College, 8425 W. McNichols, Detroit, MI, 48221 or (313) 927-1443.
