Student Involvement, Leadership and Greek Affairs (SILGA)

student involvement

Welcome to Student Involvement, Leadership and Greek Affairs (SILGA) at Marygrove College! Participation in activities, both on and off campus should be an integral part of your college experience and we hope you will become involved.

Co-curricular activities, like those offered through the SILGA Office, provide opportunities for applying classroom lessons to tangible out-of-class situations. These activities also aid in the development of leadership skills such as teamwork, decision-making and planning. These skills and experiences, as well as others, are easily transferrable to the workplace, family responsibilities, community, and civic and social obligations.

The SILGA Office is here to support student organizations through advising, involvement in activities, leadership development and a wide range of program offerings.

Please check out our major programs, activities and initiatives:

We welcome all students, faculty, staff and organizations to visit our office for assistance with activities, programs and collaboration on projects. We hope you utilize these opportunities to further enrich your experience here at Marygrove College.

Go Mustangs!

L.E.A.D. Marygrove

Leading, Engaging, Activating and Developing (L.E.A.D.) Marygrove is a new initiative of the SILGA Office. As a leadership program, it provides an opportunity for students to reflect, form ideas and opinions, and learn basic leadership skills. Through this program, Marygrove students will enrich their knowledge and experience with leadership and enhance their college experience through several programs and initiatives.

Upcoming events are listed on the right sidebar, or Click here to view SILGA Events Calendar.

L.E.A.D. Marygrove Conversations

Self-reflection and the ability to communicate ideas and opinions are key foundations to leadership. Through viewing TEDx Talks and having large and small group dialogue about the talks, these conversations begin to provide leadership examples and help integrate the processes and practices of leadership within the Marygrove College community.

Simon Sinek, “How Great Leaders Inspire Action” TEDxPugetSound, 2010
