Emergency Temporary Suspension
The Vice President for Student Affairs, the Vice President for Academic Affairs or the President may suspend a student immediately, before their case has been reviewed and a sanction is rendered. This would occur in circumstances where the College officer has determined that the student’s behavior or circumstances pose a clear and present danger to himself/herself or the College community. Under these circumstances, the judicial process would be expedited and additional on and off campus resources and consultants would be utilized to render the most fair and prudent judgment on behalf of the student, in an effort to protect the well-being of those within the College community.

Referral To Counseling
In certain circumstances, aside from disciplinary measures, the College may refer a student to the Director of Counseling and Student Development for assistance. Referrals are made when students are involved in disciplinary cases that manifest behaviors and/or attitudes which prevent his or her ability to function effectively, or when a student’s behavior becomes a threat to himself/herself or other students.
