General Overview

The Marygrove College Sports Information Department handles the publicity for the school’s seven intercollegiate sports. It is the responsibility of the Sports Information Department to disseminate information on all seven of those sports, the coaching staff and the student-athletes, as well as members of the Marygrove College Department of Athletics.

The office produces literature about the teams, maintains the official website and coordinates statistics for all sports. Sports Information also maintains historical records on each sport at Marygrove College as well as data on many former athletes and Mustang athletics in general.

The Marygrove Mustangs Department of Sports Information is in attendance at every home Mustang contest. Sports Information is responsible for in-game statistics and will provide halftime and postgame box scores for the visiting team.

Meet the Staff

Tim Johnston - Sports Information

Tim Johnston is entering his second year as Sports Information Director at Marygrove College. Among his responsibilities, Johnston coordinates student-athlete publications and press releases, credential requests for games/matches, game-day operations, and statistical information. He also maintains content for the Marygrove Athletic Department Web site.

In addition to his sports information role, Johnston heads intramurals and recreation, serves as Health and Wellness Coordinator and has recently been appointed Residence Life Coordinator. 

Johnston is a recent graduate of Rochester College, Rochester, Mich., where he earned a dual bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Sports Management and Marketing. He played baseball for three years at Rochester, and was named captain in his final season.
