Campus Recreation
Marygrove College has many recreational, fitness, and athletic opportunities. Recreation and fitness facilities include the College’s fitness center and gymnasium. Also, Marygrove students receive memberships to the Northwest Activities Center, which is located near campus. The Mustangs athletic program is a first year provisional member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. The NAIA practices five core values that Marygrove College wants their students to develop an understanding for. Those core values are respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship. Marygrove College students are reminded to practice these values when participating in recreational activities on or off campus. Marygrove College is also a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. Currently, the College’s varsity athletic teams include men’s and women’s basketball. Multiple student lounges are available on campus. The Brownstone Lounge located in Madame Cadillac offers a large area for students to relax. The lounge also has a pool table and big screen TV! In addition to the recreational facilities provided, Marygrove College offers Intramural events on-campus and through the University of Detroit Mercy. Contact Tim Johnston, Recreation Coordinator and Sports Information Director, at (313) 927-1419 or tjohnston@marygrove.edu with any questions.
