Men's Basketball Coaches
Glen Donahue, Head Men's Basketball Coach Glen Donahue was named the head men’s basketball coach at Marygrove College on October 1, 2007, taking over for Dave Sichterman who will stay with the staff as an assistant coach as well as maintain his duties as Director of Athletics, Wellness and Recreation. Donahue, 72, brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to the Mustangs program. No stranger to building a foundation for success, he has started basketball programs at two schools, Kirtland Community College and Highland Park Community College. For over 40 years, Donahue has been involved with coaching as an assistant or head coach at every level from high school to NCAA Division I programs. During that period, Donahue has amassed over 750 career wins, including a .618 winning percentage at the college level. He comes to Marygrove after serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Kirtland for seven seasons (2000-2007), where he compiled a 106-101 mark. Donahue has received numerous awards during his career, including being inducted into the Michigan Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1991. He holds a career head coaching record of 630-388 at the collegiate level. With his 16 years of service in the high school ranks, all in the state of Michigan, Donahue has easily reached the 750 win plateau. Donahue has a Bachelors degree in Business Education from University of Detroit and a Masters in Physical Education from Eastern Michigan University.
Dave Sichterman, Director of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation/Asst. Basketball Coach 2007-08 will be Dave Sichterman's eighth year with the Mustang men's basketball team. This will be his first as an assistant coach after seven years directing the program. As an assistant, Sichterman, also Marygrove’s Director of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation, hopes to be able to devote more time to expanding the entire Mustang Athletic Program. As the first head coach in the program's history, Sichterman accumulated a 60-99 record in five years of leading the Mustangs at the varsity level. In each of those five years the Marygrove men have been invited to the USCAA’s Division I Men’s Basketball National Tournament including a Final Four appearance in 2007. In addition to the national tournament invitations, eight Mustang men have been named USCAA All-Americans under Sichterman’s direction including point guard Dennis Foster who played professionally in Ireland. Prior to arriving at Marygrove College, Sichterman was the Director of Admissions and a basketball program assistant at St. Mary’s College in Orchard Lake, Michigan. While at St. Mary’s Sichterman spent one year as a varsity football coach at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep School and three years as the offensive line coach at West Bloomfield High School. Sichterman spent one year in the athletic marketing department at Northern Illinois University before heading to Orchard Lake. While at NIU, Sichterman assisted in the coordination of marketing and promotions activities for Huskie football, volleyball and basketball. Before his stop at NIU, Sichterman played professional football for two years in Landsberg, Germany. Sichterman was a player/coach for the Landsberg Express and helped lead the X-Men to two consecutive division titles, ’95 and ’96. From 1992-95 Sichterman was an assistant football coach at Kalamazoo College (MI). His primary duty at “K” was coaching the defensive lineman. Sichterman earned his Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Wayne State University. Additionally, he holds a B.S. in Communications from Western Michigan University where he was a walk-on offensive lineman for the Broncos’ 1988 MAC championship team. Originally from Kentwood, Sichterman now resides in New Boston, MI with his wife, Colleen, daughter, Olivia and son, Dane.
Tasaun Zeigler , Assistant Basketball Coach Tasaun is in his first year assisting with the Mustang men's basketball program. Coach "Z" is finishing up his undergraduate degree at Marygrove. Z's responsibilities include on court coaching and recruiting in metro Detroit. Before attending Marygrove, Tasaun played two years of college football as a defensive lineman at Virginia State University. Zeigler is the cousin of Central Michigan Head Basketball Coach, Ernie Zeigler.
