For prospective teacher certification students who do not have a Bachelor's degree. Students in the Undergraduate Teacher Certification program receive a State of Michigan Teaching Certificate after completing all requirements and receiving a Bachelor's degree. A Bachelor's degree is required to obtain a Teaching Certificate.

Students who already have a Bachelor's degree may choose the Master's of Education Plus Teacher Certification program. Students will receive a teaching certificate after completing all requirements, along with a Master's degree.

Students who already have a Bachelor's degree (Post Degree Students), may want to obtain a Teacher Certification without the Master's degree. Students must have a teachable major.

Following the completion of student teaching, Initial Teacher Certification Candidates will need to apply for certification through the Teacher Certification Officer. All Teacher Certification is processed on MOECS, through the Michigan Department of Education. Please contact the Certification Officer for more information on certification.
